Valborg (Walpurgis Night) in Uppsala is one of the biggest feasts in whole Sweden. Thousands of people gather in the city to celebrate. As I had nothing else to do, I joined them (naturally)…
What’s happening during Valborg? Well, in the morning people sit next to the river drinking champagne and eating strawberries. Every year, there’s a boat race. The funny thing about it: Students build their own boats (very creative ones) and there are two sites with rapids where nearly every boat crashes. ;) After the boat race the masses gather at a big park next to the university – picnic, drinking, music – in short: a hell of a party! And after the party, you guess it, there’s more party… But I didn’t take any photos of it because I had to secure my camera.
