Dürnstein once was a medieval castle. King Richard I Lionheart of England was held captive there by Duke Leopold V of Austria after their dispute during the Third Crusade. The ruins and the city lying below are now one of the most visited tourist destinations in the Wachau in Lower Austria.
From San Francisco my friend and I took Highway 1 south to Los Angeles. The landscape is beautiful alongside the road. We made a short stop in Monterey to visit the Bay Aquarium.
On my first day in San Francisco I went on a 9h walk all the way through Golden Gate Park to Ocean Beach, up the hill to Cliff House through Lands End to Baker Beach. From there through El Presidio to Golden Gate Bridge and further to Marina and Fisherman's Wharf where I finally walked [...]
